PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light transmission plate, the transmittance of which is improved by reducing light reflection on a light-emitting surface part and on a light reflection surface part of the light transmission plate, a surface light- emitting device with efficient light irradiation by being provided with the light transmission plate, and to provide a liquid crystal display device having high contrast and superior display quality. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device 1, consisting of the light transmission plate 12 provided with a base substrate 11 having the light-emitting surface 12b for emitting the light of a light source 13 introduced to the inside via a side end face 12a, and the light reflection surface 12c reflecting inside propagated light and placed opposite to the light-emitting surface 12b, and antireflection films 15, 18 arranged on the surfaces of the base substrate 11 and a liquid crystal display unit 20 placed opposite to the light-emitting surface 12b of the light transmission plate 12, the light transmission plate is constructed, in such a way that the antireflection films 15 and 18 are provided respectively on the light-emitting surface 12b and the light reflection surface 12c. |
