A method for the treatment of incineration residues consists of discharging these residues into a preheating zone (12) arranged above a fusion zone (11), extracting a vitrified liquid (14) in the fusion zone and cooling (30) it to obtain a vitrified solid. An Independent claim is also included for an installation for putting this method into service.
