A method for analyzing the test results for a memory being tested on a memory tester, involves (a) carrying out a test operation on a memory in order to generate a data result; (b) without previous storage of this test result at a work place, masks (96, 97, 105) are applied to the data result and; (c) a counter is activated according to the error indication, which remain in the data result after application of the mask.
