PURPOSE: A method for initializing the communication of a discrete multiple rays system of a time division binary/time division multiplex connection method for power line communication is provided to perform an activation and an approval procedure of a transmission line for an execution of an initialization stably by considering a frequency selection degradation environment of an electric power-line and transmitting pre-engaged many subcarrier channels simultaneously. CONSTITUTION: In a communication initializing method of an electric power-line communication system by connecting a master unit and a slave unit through an electric power-line to a communication channel for performing an initializing procedure of a discrete multi tone(DMT) method for an electric power-line communication at a normal status, an activation and an approval procedure of an initialization are performed using many subcarrier channels between a master unit and a slave unit by considering a characteristic with respect to a frequency selection degradation of an electric power-line. Information of only one bit is transmitted per a discrete multi tone one symbol being exchanged in an initialization process between the master unit and the slave unit by considering a characteristic with respect to a low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of an electric power-line.
