<p>The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner for floor surfaces, especially for smooth floors, comprising a housing (2) in whose base (10) a suction channel (11) is configured that substantially extends at an angle to the working direction (7) of the vacuum cleaner (1) across the entire width of the housing (2). A cleaning roller (9) is disposed above the suction channel (11) and a part of its peripheral surface projects through the suction channel (11). Said cleaning roller (9) is rotatably driven by a motor (17) disposed in the housing (2). In order to achieve a satisfactory cleaning result also of smooth floors, the vacuum cleaner is provided with a cleaning and polishing attachment (20) whose attachment housing (21) is detachably mounted on base (10) side on the housing (2). Said attachment (20) comprises at least one rotatably driven cleaning and polishing tool (25) that acts upon the floor surface, said cleaning and polishing tool (25) being driven by the motor (17) in the housing (2) of the vacuum cleaner (1).</p> |
