The rotary slide valve has a housing (2) with inlet (3) and outlet (4) pipes and a rotatable shut-off body of cylindrical shape. The three-dimensional seal between the shut off body and the opening of the outlet pipe has a rigid plate with bore with sealing lips on either side edge thereof to adjoin the edge of the bore of the cylindrical shut off body and opening of the outlet pipe to produce floating sealing action for lower wear and better tolerance compensation. A stud projecting from the upper and lower edges of the rigid plate engages in a dedicated guide groove in the base of the housing and cover so that the seal is axially displaceable.
