PURPOSE: A combustion chamber structure for a diesel engine is provided to remarkably reduce the smoke generating amount and oil consumption amount by remarkably reducing the amount of fuel scattered to the upper part of the combustion chamber by forming a side wall of the combustion chamber inclined downward in a prescribed angle. CONSTITUTION: In a combustion chamber structure having a combustion chamber(6) comprising an injector(5) for injecting fuel, a side wall(2) and an eddy groove(3) formed at the upper part of a piston(1) for injected fuel from the injector to eddy and be ignited, the side wall is formed to be inclined in a prescribed angle to reduce the amount of fuel scattered to the upper part of the combustion chamber, and the eddy groove and a center protrusion part(4) are formed more deeply to expand the whole volume of the combustion chamber.
