<p>(1) Porous nickel foil for an alkaline battery cathode, which is porous nickel foil formed by an electrolytic deposition method, having a thickness of 10-35 νm and a Vickers hardness of 70-130, the porous nickel foil formed by an electrolytic deposition being softened/annealed to the above hardness. (2) A porous drum for a cathode to be used in an electrolytic deposition method, characterized in that a ratio (L/D) of depth L to diameter D of its hole is at least 1, and no clearance, into which deposited metal otherwise cuts in a wedge shape, exists at the boundary between an insulating resin filled into the hole and the upper end edge of the hole. The insulating resin is preferably, for example a silicone resin, that does not separate from the inner wall of the hole by shrinkage at curing.</p> |
