PURPOSE: An apparatus for opening a door of a vehicle is provided to ensure the safety of occupant in a vehicle by automatically opening a window of a door when the vehicle is immersed in water. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for opening a door of a vehicle comprises a plurality of humidity sensors(11,12,13). The humidity sensors(11,12,13) are installed at a lower end of a vehicle trunk or at a lower end of the driver's seat so as to detect whether the vehicle is immersed in water. The install position of the humidity sensors(11,12,13) can be varied. The humidity sensors(11,12,13) outputs logic high when the detected humidity exceeds a predetermined level. An ignition detecting section(14) is provided to detect whether an ignition switch is in an ignition position. In addition, an RPM detecting section(15) is provided to output logic high when the RPM of an engine is lower than a predetermined level.
