The device has a body for insertion into a pipe or container section to be flushed with gas with a gas connector and a gas outlet surface and at least partially flexible supports on both sides of the body for sealing against the inside of the pipe or container. A gas outlet and the gas connector are arranged near the same support and the gas outlet has a branch line connected to an oxygen measurement device.
