<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of joining aluminum material to iron material wherein joining work is easy and joining can be conducted at a high speed. SOLUTION: In this method of joining the aluminum material to the iron material, flanges 20 and 10 which have bent parts 21 and 11 and rising parts 22 and 12 are formed in a part where aluminum material 2 is joined to iron material 1, the rising part of the aluminum material 2 is abutted against the rising part of the iron material 1, and a laser beam 3 is irradiated toward the boundary between the rising parts which is adjacent to the bent parts. In the method, a radius R on a facing side to the laser beam in the bent part is 1.0<R<10 mm, length L of the rising part is more than 1.5 times of plate thickness T, ratio P/V which is obtained by dividing output P of the laser beam with moving velocity V thereof is 8.5<=P/V<=24 kW.sec./m.</p> |
