<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for protecting the heater surface, capable of preventing dissolution of a metal and/or a metal oxide of the outermost protection layer of a heater for ejecting a liquid composition from a head. SOLUTION: A method for protecting the heater surface for protecting the outermost protection layer 16-2 containing a metal, or the like of the heater of an ink-jet printer having a recording head 13 comprising a heater 18 for ejecting a liquid composition 21 from an orifice 22 by applying thermal energy, wherein the liquid composition is a liquid medium, an alkaline metal ion, or a compound represented by the formula H2N-(CHY)n-(CH2)m-X[X=COO or SO3; Y=any of H, COO and SO3], and a method for protecting the heater surface for control such that the relationship of 1.10<=Eop/Eth<=1.90 is satisfied with the premise that the energy inputted to the heater is Eop and the energy minimally necessary for ejecting the liquid composition is Eth, and an ink-jet recorder, are provided.</p> |
