PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate transportation and stockpiling in outer space by achieving reductions in the time and cost required for design and fabrication. SOLUTION: This conveying apparatus includes an object carrying unit 2 equipped with a number of mutually connectable and separable rod shells 21 and assembled in outer space; a power unit 3 for supplying electric power to the appropriate portion of the unit 2; a thruster unit 4 for imparting thrust to the unit 2; a control unit 5; and a sensor unit 6. Based on feature data resembling the features of objects P to be conveyed, contained in a database provided in the control unit 5 for storing the feature data of various objects, it is possible to set a suitable combination, in relation to the unit 2, of the power unit 3, the thruster unit 4, the control unit 5 and the sensor unit 6 for conveying the objects P.
