PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a color filter with which a liquid crystal display device having excellent display quality and reliability can be easily produced by forming a spacer of laminated color layers on a resin black matrix in such a manner that the density of the spacer is controlled to a specified number or smaller per one pixel in the display area. SOLUTION: In this color filter, color layers 3-5 of three primary colors are laminated to form a spacer on a black matrix 2. The spacer is formed by <1.0 per one pixel density in the display area. The color liquid crystal display device is produced by disposing the color filter and a transparent electrode substrates 1, 13 facing each other. A transparent electrode 6 such as ITO film is formed on the color filter. A pattern of a transparent electrode 6 such as ITO film is formed on the transparent electrode substrates 1, 13, and not only a pattern of the transparent electrode such as an ITO film, but a thin film transistor element, thin film diode element, scanning line, signal line and insulating part are formed. |
