METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING OPEN/CLOSE OF SUB-BODY IN AUTOMATIC/MANUAL FOLDABLE PORTABLE TERMINAL

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for controlling the open/close of a sub-body in an automatic/manual foldable portable terminal are provided to achieve an efficient open/close operation in automatically opening/closing the sub-body of a foldable portable terminal. CONSTITUTION: If a user carries out control to make a sub-body automatically closed(300), a control part controls a motor driving part so that the sub-body can be opened from a main body(302). Then the control part judges whether a sub-body completed open detection signal is received from an open sensor(304). If the sub-body completed open detection signal is received, the control part stops driving a sub-body open/close motor(318). However, if the sub-body completed open detection signal is not received, the control part judges whether a preset time elapsed(306). If it is judged that the preset time elapsed, the control part increases a motor driving repetition frequency by "1"(308). Then the control part judges whether the motor driving repetition frequency reaches "N"(310). If the motor driving repetition frequency reaches "N", the control part controls the driving of the motor driving part so that the sub-body can be closed on the surface of the main body(312). Then the control part judges whether a sub-body completed close detection signal is received from a close sensor(314). If the sub-body completed close detection signal is received, the control part stops driving the sub-body open/close motor(318).
