SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel derivatives of benzimidazole of the formula (I) where R1 means hydrogen atom or hydrocarbon group with short chain; R2 is CH2OH, COOH, COOR3 and 4,4-dimethyl-2-oxazolinyl group. This invention relates to compounds showing strong elective H1- antihistaminic activity and without activity with respect to the central nervous system and they can be used therefore for treatment of patients with allergic diseases and as an active component in an antihistaminic pharmaceutical composition.
