In a history hierarchical menu area, history information from the history of the operations traced back to the past according to the operation of a control unit to the current layer is displayed, and a selection is made by means of the control unit by the user. As the layers increase, the rows increase as the items "TOP Menu", "--Menu A", and "---Menu A-1" are shown, and the current layer "---Menu A-1" is displayed as the lowermost layer. Indents and marks indicate hierarchical structures. When a cursor is moved to make a selection by the control unit, moreover, a direct return to the layer can be made. In a current menu area, the item of the current menu layer is displayed. A folder mark is attached to a menu having a lower-layer item. Therefore, the current history layer can be expressed in a control menu system using a user interface device and having the hierarchical structure.
|
