PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a central management system and a method for peripheral units that enable continuation of operation of the system and its restoration in a short time with ease, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: A copying machine 106 is connected to a central management unit 103 via a communication controller 101 in a communicable way through the PIAFS(PHS Internet Access Forum Standard), and the central management unit 103 is connected to a management center 105 via a telephone line 107 and a communication network 104. A nonvolatile memory section 207 of the central management unit 103 stores CS identifiers and PS identifiers (registered data) to respectively identify the central management unit 103 itself and respective communication controllers 101 to which subscribers are registered, and the management center 105 conducts remote management on the basis of them. The management center 105 also stores the registered data. In the case of replacing the central management unit 103 in operation with a new central management unit, the management center 105 transfers the registered data via the communication network 104 to the new central management unit, the nonvolatile memory section 207 of which reconfigures the data. |
