PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel mother board architecture having integrate digital signal processing(DSP) ability. SOLUTION: DSP hardware serves as a bridge between a speech input section of a speech card or integrated speech module and a microprocessor. The DSP chip itself serves as a processor for processing command speech and continuous speech and an embedded speech recognition engine. Further, the DSP chip serves as a front-end processor of the continuous speech processing and converts the digital bit streams indicating the speech to phonemes for processing by a CPU and speech recognition engine utilizing the software, thereby making it possible to smooth a digital cellular telephone function and the conversion from characters to the speech. |
