PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect four inclination states such as normal stand, right inclination, left inclination and headstand. SOLUTION: A casing 4 forms a storing space 2 in the inside and has a linear symmetrical inner peripheral face concerning an axial line. An object to be detected 5 moved by being rolled along the inner peripheral face around the axial line is stored. The inner peripheral face of the casing 4 is an octagon in a vertical virtual plane, and the octagon is different in the length of adjacent sides. When the object to be detected 5 in the storing space 2 of the casing 4 is positioned on any one of the four short sides forming octagon, it is stably held, and the position of the held object 5 is detected by a detection means 6.
