METHOD FOR PRODUCING 5-FLUOROOXYINDOLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and industrial method for producing 5- fluorooxyindole by which the 5-fuorooxyindole is obtained from a readily available 2-(5-fluoro-2-nitrophenyl)malonic acid diester in high yield. SOLUTION: This method for producing the 5-fluorooxyindole is characterized by comprising (A) a first step of cyclizing the 2-(5-fluoro-2-nitrophenyl)malonic acid diester under reducing conditions and producing a 5-fluorooxyindole-3- carboxylic acid ester and then (B) a step of decarboxylating the 5- fluorooxyindole-3-carboxylic acid ester.
