PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range-finding device which enables selection of optimum focusing from cases that there is a wall just behind an object in a closest range, that multiple infinity distances are included when taking the picture of a landscape, and further that multiple range-finding values in a predetermined distance exist. SOLUTION: In this range-finding device capable of realizing range-finding at multiple points, the multiple range-finding values are obtained within the predetermined distance on the closest side, and the range-finding value is not selected when the multiple range-finding values on the farthest side exist, so that a distance to be focused is obtained from remaining multiple points, whereby appropriate focusing which is not influenced by the wall behind the object is obtained even in the case of the object such as arranged flowers near to the closest range with the wall as a background. By obtaining the mean value excepting the range-finding value of multiple farthest points of the range-finding values within the predetermined distance on the closest range side, focusing considering the depth of the object is realized and photographing which is not influenced by the background is realized. |
