OMNIDIRECTIONAL WHEEL AND MOVING WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an omnidirectional wheel that prevents a track of a load on the wheel from distorting by turning of a wheel around a support shaft vertical to a ground as using a conventional swivel caster, stabilizes the load by lowering the center of gravity of a system, and is not required to lift up the load high in mounting the load onto the wheel. SOLUTION: A plurality of casters 29 having one or more wheels 1 are arranged on a first rotating frame 9 and on the circumference around the rotating axis of the rotating frame 9. Directions of the plurality of casters 29 are always kept constant using a parallel link mechanism for rotatably constraining the eccentric support shafts 8 of the casters on a second rotating frame 10 and on the circumference around the rotating axis of the rotating frame 10 having the same radius as the circumference of the rotating frame 9. Thus, friction for a ground surface 4 is reduced. The double rotating frame having the casters 29 is fixed obliquely with respect to the ground surface 4, thereby lowering the entire mechanism.
