PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope which is easy in changing of an observation method and is inexpensive. SOLUTION: Long holes 23a are formed at sliders 23 to which a polarizer 17 and an analyzer 18 are held. The portions of the sliders 23 formed with the long holes 23a project outside the body of the microscope M. Bearings 22b are inserted into the long holes 23a. The bearings 22b are disposed at the on-side ends of arms 22a mounted at the revolving shafts of motors 21. The driving force of the motors 21 are transmitted to the sliders 23 by the arms 22a and the bearings 22b, by which the sliders 23 are slid and driven in an R1 direction. Consequently, the insertion and removal of the polarizer 17 and the analyzer 18 into and out of the optical path are carried out by the motors 21.
