PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute an abrasive wear detection sensor for a brake pad to make possible a downsizing and to allow an easy attachment of the sensor. SOLUTION: In the abrasive wear detection sensor S for brake pad in which lead wires 2 are electrically connected to both ends of a metal piece 1 of generally U shape by caulking and the metal piece 1 is molded so as to be covered with an electrically insulating resin 3, the abrasive wear detection sensor S for brake pad is molded in the condition that a spacer 5 made of the electrically insulated resin material on both side of which grooves 4 are formed for fitting the inside edges of the metal piece 1 is interposed in the bifurcated part of the metal piece 1. Further, positioning piece 7 of U shape made of the electrically insulated resin material of which inside edge is fitted to a grooves 6 formed on top and bottom sides of the spacer 5 from the rear end of the grooves 6 is provided, the positioning piece 7 has a convex edge 8 on top and bottom sides thereof, the convex edges 8 protrude upward and downward in the molded condition, and the convex edges 8 are located in the holes 10 of an attachment piece 9 attached after locating the abrasive wear detection sensor S for brake pad and locked therein.
