PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation control method for a vaporizing burner which can smoothly start the combusting operation while preventing the dew condensation of vaporized gas at operation start of the vaporizing burner. SOLUTION: To start the operation of the vaporizing burner, first the ambient temperature of the installation place of the vaporizing burner is detected as an initial ambient temperature TSO, and also the initial temperature TKO of a carburetor 6 is detected with a carburetor temperature sensor 36, and threshold temperatures T1 and T2 (T1<T2) are set, according to these initial ambient temperature TSO and carburetor initial temperature TKO. When the detected temperature of the carburetor temperature sensor 36 reaches the threshold T1 after start of operation of the electrothermic heater 35 of the carburetor 6, the operation of a combustion fan 43 is started, and then when the detected temperature reaches the threshold temperature T2, the ignition treatment of a burner 4 is started.
