PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To forestall, at least, a breakdown of a label applying device in a case where an object to be labeled inclines when the object such as a bottle is to be inserted into a tubular label. SOLUTION: After a tubular label L upfolded into a sheet shape is opened preliminarily by a label opening means 25 arranged at each application head 10, the label L is expanded by a label expanding means 25, and a bottle B is inserted into the expanded label L by uplifting the bottle B from the lower part to a label applying level by a bottle lifting mechanism 40. The bottle lifting mechanism 40 is equipped with a loading pedestal 41 for loading the bottle B, and a lifting member 42 which moves up and down in a state where the loading pedestal 41 is supported movable to up and down, and a fixing means which fixes the loading pedestal 41 against the member 42, and the fixing means possesses a fixation release function to release fixation of the loading pedestal 41 against the lifting member 42 when a load exceeding a prescribed value is loaded to the pedestal 41 from an upper side.
