PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension type support structure capable of extraordinarily restricting volume when mounted as the volume is folded state, and extraordinarily enlarging rigidity in an extended state. SOLUTION: In this extension type support structure comprising plural separate elements connected to each other, the elements are formed as cylindrical elements 1, 11, 21, 31, 41, and 51, and these cylindrical elements are reversibly deformable. The cylindrical elements are connected to each other through first elastic elements 5 at their end parts 4, 14, 24, 34, 44, 54, 7, 17, 27, and 37.
