PURPOSE: A microporous fabric capable of shielding harmful microorganism and ultrafine byproducts induced therefrom and having an average pore size from 0.1 to 4.0 micrometer, high moisture vapor permeability and washing fastness is provided which can be used as articles for prevention of various allergies such as bed cover, baby garment or the like. CONSTITUTION: This microporous fabric is prepared by processing a synthetic ultrafine fiber such as polyester ultrafine fiber and/or polyester/nylon conjugate fiber at a temperature of 65 to 75deg.C at a speed of 65 to 70 m/min, at a pressure of 25 to 30 ton after weaving. The microporous fiber has an average pore size from 0.1 to 4.0 micrometer and satisfies the formula: Ha<=20% in which Ha is a ratio of Hmax based on the total number of pores and Hmax is a number of pores in which a pore size of the total number of pores is more than the average pore size.
