PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recycle sand blast debris produced in forming a barrier rib and an electrode for a flat panel display with sand blasting. SOLUTION: In the process for applying pastes 5, 6 for a barrier rib forming material and/or an electrode forming material all over a substrate 4 to form coatings 7, 8, masking the coatings 7, 8 at their preset positions on the surfaces with a resist film 9 and then using a 5μm to 50μm stainless powder as a polishing material 3 for grinding and removing the coatings 7, 8 in other areas than masking positions with sand blasting to form the barrier rib 1 and/or the electrode 2, sand blast debris 10 to be discharged from the process is dispersed into a solvent 11 to form a dispersed liquid 12, polishing material debris 13 is collected from the dispersed liquid 12 by magnetic separation, a dissolving agent 37 for the polishing material 3 is added to a solid component 14 in the dispersed liquid 29 to remove a polishing material fine powder dissolved in the solid component, which is not collected by the magnetic separation 14, and the barrier rib forming material and/or the electrode forming material 26A, 27A as solid component residuals, not dissolved, are collected.
