PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a float through which a line is passed and which ensures good visibility characteristic to a rod-like float, hardly causes the entanglement of the float with a terminal tackle, when the terminal tackle is cast, and has excellent operability, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This rod-like float through which a line is passed 10 which is in a vertical posture and floats in a state exposing the upper portion of the float main body 11 on the surface of water, when alighting on the water, comprising a rod-like float main body 11 and a fishing line path that comprises a longitudinal core hole 12 comprising a blind hole whose lower end is outward opened from the lower end of the float main body and whose upper end is ended at the longitudinal middle way of the float main body, and a waist portion-passing hole 13 whose one end communicates with the longitudinal core hole and whose other end is outward opened. The float which correctly in a vertical posture to enhance the visibility, when alighting on the water, holds the upper end side in a state that the upper end side is directed to the opposite side, when cast, and hardly causes the entanglement of the float with a terminal tackle, can be produced at a low cost without carrying out a resin-molding method or the like.
