The invention relates to cosmetic preparations comprised of: (a) 40 to 99 wt. % fatty alcohols, and; (b) 1 to 60 wt. % active substances having, at 20 DEG C, a water solubility of less than 1 g/l, with the provision that the indications of quantity total 100 wt. %. The invention also relates to the use of fatty alcohols as solubilizing agents for active substances having, at 20 DEG C, a water solubility of less than 1g/l.
