The mounting consists of a rail (2) with double hat shaped profile. The solar cells (1) rest on the profile shoulders and are held in position by spring clips (12) inserted through slots in the top of the rail. Contact pads (10) are provided on the underside (for environmental protection) of the cell edges and the cells interconnected by inserting them between spring loaded contacts (21).
