PURPOSE: A multi brand remote control system is provided to install a remote control repeater to store various infrared ray codes received from remote controllers and to read and send a relevant infrared ray code using a multi brand remote controller. CONSTITUTION: A multi brand remote control system consists of a multi brand remote controller(102), a controller(103), and an infrared signal transmit-receive part(104). In a storage mode, the multi brand remote controller(102) identifies each remote controller(101A-101D) or sends an infrared ray code to appoint the purpose of an infrared ray code to be sent from each remote controller(101A-101D). In an output mode, the multi brand remote controller(102) reads and sends a requested infrared ray code among a plurality of previously stored infrared ray codes. In the storage mode, the controller(103) sends a previously appointed infrared ray code so that each infrared ray code sent from each remote controller(101A-101D) can be stored in the memory of the infrared signal transmit-receive part(104) according to an infrared ray code received from the multi brand remote controller(102). In the output mode, the controller(103) sends an infrared ray code so that an infrared ray code stored in the memory can be sent according to an infrared ray code received from the multi brand remote controller(102). In the storage mode, the infrared signal transmit-receive part(104) stores each infrared ray code sent from each remote controller(101A-101D) in the memory according to an infrared ray code received from the controller(103). In the output mode, the infrared signal transmit-receive part(104) reads an infrared ray code from the memory according to an infrared ray code received from the controller(103) and sends it to a relevant home appliance(105A-105D).
