The invention concerns the use of particles having a size ranging between 20 and 200 nm comprising a non-liquid hydrophilic core consisting of a matrix of polysaccharides or oligosaccharides naturally or chemically crosslinked, associated with identical or different antigens, for preparing a vaccine composition, said particles inducing, stimulating or increasing a cytotoxic cellular immune response. The inventive therapeutic vaccine composition is useful for preventing and/or treating chronic protozoan-induced infections of viral or bacterial origin, caused, or cancers.
