A control device for the attainment of a specified output pressure of a magnet pump which has a pressure chamber equipped with an inlet and an outlet valve onto which a cylinder adjoins, is described. A pre-tensioned pressure bar supporting the armature of an electromagnetic pressure magnet is arranged as a piston and the armature can be displaced between the two pole pieces of the pressure magnet excitable by its magnet coil. A displacement sensor (15) determining the displacement of its armature (13) is assigned to the pressure magnet (8). The magnet coil (14) of the magnet (13) is acted upon by a control device (16) whose output current can be switched on and off by an oscillator (20) when the actual stroke covered by the piston falls below the determined switch-off displacement.
