The cable-drum (1) is connected to the person exercising by means of a cable(2) and to a frequency-controlled drive mechanism (3). The cable is connected to a force-sensor (5) by means of a bending-beam (4) fixed in a pipe (6) which can be adjusted in height in a clamping device (7). The cable contains a flexible member (8), preferably in the form of a rubber cable. The drive is connected to a speed-sensor (9).
