PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared ray communication adapter for enabling data exchange with an external apparatus provided with infrared ray communication interface by using infrared rays, in the case of a portable telephone set which does not have infrared ray communication function. SOLUTION: This infrared ray communication adapter is provided with a portable telephone set connection part 4 which is connected with an external communication interface of the portable telephone set, and transmits serial data supplied from the telephone set; and the infrared communication interface 3 for performing data communication to the external apparatus according to the infrared ray communication protocol. In order to transmit data supplied from one communication interface to the other communication interface, the communication protocol of communication interface of the data supply side is analyzed, and converted to the communication protocol corresponding to the communication interface of the data transmitting side by performing RS232C emulation internally, and the data are transmitted. |
