DAMPER, BRACE, AND COLUMN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damper of low cost and high output which is applicable to axial expansion of a column, and a brace and a column using that. SOLUTION: This damper (damper part) 1 is provided with an outer insert 3 and an inner insert 4 slidably inserted into it. On the inner side of the outer insert (outer insert brace member) 3 or on the outer side of the inner insert (inner brace member) 4, a friction generating means having an oil containing part 6 is provided to increase friction between the outer insert 3 and the inner insert 4 by a wall body 10 of the oil containing part 6 pressing a wall surface of the outer insert 3 or the inner insert 4 by its oil pressure. On a slide surface between the outer insert 3 or the inner insert 4 and the wall body 10 of the oil containing part 6, lubricant 14 is applied.
