LEATHER HAVING WATERPROOF, WATER-PERMEATION AND ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Provided are a waterproof, water-permeative and antibacterial leather with functionality and a method for producing the leather. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises (i) immersing hide subjected to soaking, liming, deliming, and bating processes in formic acid so as the pH of the hide to be 2.0-3.5, and treating the hide with 450-1,800 ppm(based on weight of raw leather) of antimicrobial of CMK type for 1 hour; (ii) treating the material resulting from the step(i) with chromium to mineralize an animal origin material on the fiber, and treating the resulting material with 450-1,800 ppm(based on weight of raw leather) of antimicrobial of TCMTB type for 1 hour; and (iii) neutralizing the material resulting from the step (ii) to increase a pH of the material to 5.0-6.5, and treating the material with 450-1,800 ppm(based on weight of active ingredients) of antimicrobial of OITZ type for 1 hour to impart an antibiosis to the material.
