摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure excellent etching characteristic in manufacturing a high strength PS plate substrate. SOLUTION: An aluminum alloy material for the substrate has a composition consisting of 0.1-1.0% Fe, <=0.3% Si, 0.2-0.5% Mn, 0.005-0.5% rare earth elements and the balance Al with inevitable impurities and further containing, if necessary, 0.01-0.3 mass%, in total, of either or both of Zr and Y. Accordingly, this material has high strength as well as excellent etching uniformity. By this method, quality required of a printing plate can be improved when this material is used as a planographic plate, and excellent durability can be provided.
