PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit that is applied to display a still digital picture on an image display device. SOLUTION: This invention provides a digital camera consisting of a still digital picture extracting device that extracts a still digital picture, a compressor that compresses the still digital picture through wavelet transform to generate a compressed image data file, a memory card that stores the compressed image data file, a central processing unit that calculates and compares a free storage space of the memory card, a used storage space of the memory card, and a size of the compressed image data file, deletes part of the stored image and stores the compressed image data file or directly stores the compressed image data file to the memory card when the free storage space is smaller than the size of the compressed data file, a decompressing device that decompresses the compressed image data file to generate a data file, and an image display device that displays the image data file. |
