The exit zone of the feed funnel (10) has a rectangular cross section. Its principal axis lies perpendicularly or obliquely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the assembly of cylinders. Preferred features: Some or all of the fibrous tape (22) can be diverted toward the exit zone. Over its width, it can be diverted from the horizontal into an oblique- or vertical position. During diversion, the amplitude of transverse folds and the direction of the longest axis in the exit zone extend mutually parallel. The folds traverse in the direction of their amplitude, parallel to the longitudinal side of the exit zone. The folds traverse under lateral crushing, (in the direction of their wavelength) between the walls of greatest length at the exit opening. In the exit zone the ratio (height : width) is at least 1 : 10. It is at least 1 : 30. The principal axis of the exit zone is orientated in the direction of fold amplitude (height). The height of the fold assembly is about 50-100 mm. It is about equal to or exceeds a fold height. The height is about 2-3 mm. The walls are parallel over their height at the exit. The speed of the fibrous tape leaving is 10/6 m/s (100 m/min) or more. Its transverse section is rectangular. The exit is a configuration with acute angles. The tape is rectangular in cross section and is transferred to further treatment. The tape of fibers leaving is a flat ribbon, a tape or similar. The exit zone is located in a gap between extraction cylinders. The equipment is further detailed.
