PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water leak occurrence position detector having a correction function for improving the accuracy of detecting water leak occurrence position by grasping the characteristic of current flowing via a protection layer and correcting by extracting only current flowing in the leaked water. SOLUTION: The detector comprises a plurality of upper line electrodes 111 to 118 laid on a water shield film 2, a plurality of lower line electrodes 12A to 12H laid below the water shield film, an annular correction electrode 13 arranged in the vicinity of a part where the protection layer contacts the ground, a selection connection means 84 and 85 selecting a pair of the upper and the lower line electrodes and connecting with one of terminals of a two- phase alternating current power source 14, the first current detection circuit 15 detecting the first current value flowing between the selected pair of line electrodes, the second current detection circuit 16 detecting the second current value flowing between the line electrode connected with the impression side terminal 14a and the annular correction electrode, and a correction means 19 for correcting the current component flowing through the protection layer from the first current value by using the second current value.
