PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device that is driven at high speed and causes no shading and color unevenness to an image. SOLUTION: In the solid-state image pickup device having image pickup areas 901-904 each having pixels 905, at least one side of the surroundings of the image pickup areas 901-904 is respectively provided with means 906a-906d that supply a signal to each of the pixels 905 or means 911a-911d that externally output a signal, which is read in response to the signal supplied to the pixels 905.
