PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To overcome, at a stroke, inconveniences of a mud wall using conventional mud, i.e., a long drying period of the mud wall, and early degradation of the same which occurs in a period as short as several years, due to insufficient hardness, the conventional mud having a composition prepared by mixing suitable amounts of sand, lime, straw fibers for plastering, water, etc., into earth such as clay, and kneading the resultant components, by promoting generation of minus ions in air by virtue of permanent magnetic powder in new mud to improve an indoor living environment, accelerating hardening of the mud, and increasing the strength of the mud after hardening by virtue of existence of protein components. SOLUTION: According to a new mud wall, mud is obtained by mixing at least one of the permanent magnet powder and the protein components with earth, and kneading the earth together with water. Then, the resultant mud is applied on a mud retaining means.
