SPINDLE MOTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor for a recording/reproducing apparatus which assures less uneven rotation, even if the motor is small in size and generates higher torque and can control temperature rise within an apparatus and moreover even if a cooling fan is not provided inside the recording/ reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: A rotor magnet 1 is formed by disposing a plurality of the segments of a magnet 1a along the circumference of a stator core in annular form and forming the magnet 1a in a shape with thickness in the radial direction changes in the circumferential direction, the thickness in the radial direction becomes large at almost the center of the circumferential direction and thickness in the radial direction becomes small at the end portion of the circumferential direction.
