PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for quickly and effectively charging a high-voltage capacitor. SOLUTION: Transmission of energy is changed, depending on the efficiency ensuring transmission of energy to a capacitor (108) by dynamically controlling the duty cycle of a fixed frequency current (109) waveform, based on the voltage condition of the capacitor (108) during a charge sequence, in which a current (109) is added to the capacitor (108). Therefore, the charge sequence of the capacitor is optimized, and the rate of charge of high-voltage capacitor (108) can be increased. A pulse voltage source (102) supplies a voltage pulse (122), having a constant frequency and an adjustable duty cycle to the primary winding (104) of a transformer (114). When energy of a prescribed amount is accumulated in the transformer (114), the transformer (114) generates a current 109 so as to control the capacitor (108) charging conditions. |
