PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for remotely diagnosing a communication equipment are provided to diagnose a remote station communication equipment in a local station communication equipment in case that two communication equipments connects by a dedicated communication line. CONSTITUTION: An operation terminal(10) receives various diagnosis commands for diagnosing a communication equipment and displays a diagnosis result. A local station communication equipment(20) transmits a remote diagnosis command received from the operation terminal(10) through a dedicated communication line, and transmits the diagnosis result received through the dedicated communication line to the operation terminal(10). A remote station communication equipment(30) performs equipment diagnosis according to the remote diagnosis command received from the local station communication equipment(20) through the dedicated communication line, and transmits the diagnosis result to the local station communication equipment(20) through the dedicated communication line.
