PURPOSE: An apparatus for operating an artificial arm is provided to enable a user that one arm is indisposed to conveniently and easily operate the artificial arm just like his/her arm. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for operating an artificial arm consists of a main frame(1) capable of supporting an arm wholly; upper and lower, and left and right shoulder joint frames(2,4,5) for moving the arm in all directions; a main arm(3) for supporting and moving the arm; an elbow joint(10) for allowing the inward and outward movement of a second arm(11); a wrist joint(13) for allowing the inward and outward movement of a hand(16); a wrist rotating joint(14); fingers; a transmission device for receiving and transmitting movement signals of the main arm, the second arm, the hand, and so on; and a spring(19) for balancing the arm.
